Death by ellipses!

Just finished watching Mononoke again - I love the metaphors. And the Ashitaka/San because, er, I'm a romantic.

Story or Series Title: the true emotions (not by Miyazaki's canon, that's for sure)
Fandom: Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi/Spirited Away
Culprit Author's Name: Kittenofmystery
Summary: ummm yeah Chihiro is basicly just a little *ticked ( Read more... )

1. i love mononoke. especially the scene where ashitaka hugs san, near the end. i'm really a sap at heart.
2. this is by a nineteen-year-old? i weep for my generation, let alone my fandom.

*starts going over, picking up the ellipses and putting them in a bag* Poor things. They're so abused.

This was written by a 19 year old?! Pah! I scribbled out better fic when I was twelve! I weep for my generation. Please, pass the sporks.

Firstly, I adore your icon. MSR rocks the proverbial socks.

Secondly, please, partake freely of the sporks. I would've expected writing this bad from a ten-year old's private journal, albeit not the subject matter; that a nineteen year old wrote this is depressing.

The author should be forced to rename this fic "teh tru emoshuns (OMG!!!)" in order to alert the unwary.

I really don't think so.

If we're talking canonically, I'm not entirely sure I remember that being in the movie - dub, subtitled, Japanese, etc. If it is, then several of my Japanese and American friends have some 'splaining to do, with my apologies to Ricky.

It would be very interesting to read in fanfiction, particularly if that sort of thing was well-done (but knowing the state of the fandom, that's a rather weak chance).

Sorry to comment again, but that line was niggling in my head until I dug up both DVDs (English and Japanese) and flipped through; that is one of the conditions, apparently, but general consensus seems to be that there's enough of an implication that he won't be ripped apart that the fandom's latched onto it. (That and while Miyazaki has a penchant for slightly double-edged endings, I somehow doubt he'd really have that happen.)

This would be fun to debate, actually. XD

Although I've decided I'll maintain it would make one helluva fanfic - especially considering the emotional ramifactions for all involved, the possibilities for fanfiction, and the fact that it could be written very well. He did promise they'd meet again, but it really wasn't as if he was terribly clear on that angle. :]

Dammit. Now I have fic ideas.
