John Wayne is practically mythical in my family. You have good taste. (Me, when I wasn't dreaming of being an Autobot, I wanted to be Indiana Jones. He is the epitome of Action/Adventure Cool.)

As for them watching the film, half the time I seriously think they just saw the last half in a daze, dreaming about Haku. Which I can understand, I suppose (to a degree), but not when the writers start perversing Miyazaki's work.
