Oh hell. Not another punk fic. Though I am, indeed, a geek, I think I can safely say real punks - and goths - would be offended by this sort of horrible misrepresentation.

Ick. It's never a good thing when authors attempt to bring in "western" influences to an obivously Japanese themed movie.

And recycling the canon is a tired formula. Writing the storyline from a different perpective, now that can be interesting. But putting in new characters to re-enact a scene. B-o-r-i-n-g.

If Yubaba can read, write, and speak English as this fic proposes, I still don't know how Monique could become Ann, much less Loranne becoming Lee.

You know, if she were going to simplify the names and make them sound like actual names, you'd think that if anything, Loranne would become Ann and Monique would become... jeez, I dunno, Moe or something. Muq? That'd be a pretty cool name to have.
