This is gorgeous. I love how you write these two. I loved the way the intimacy of the past, the special kind of awkward between them, the attraction, the love and the acknowledgement of the hurts of the past all wove together. Just enough details to ground it too. You achieve the feat of conveying the simplicity of happiness while showing that it's also pretty compicated.
