Alex, in the most perfectly calm tone ever imagined, to me: "Right, so if you ever disagree with me I shall have to kill you."
Alex (to James): well, let's ask Anna. (to me:) Anna, do you want to get vegetables or just eat chicken and chips?"
me: i'd like vegetables...
Alex: See, she wants vegetables too.
James: Alex, you shouldn't ask Anna, you and Eve are winning against me 2 to 1 as it is, if you ask Anna you don't gain anything extra if she sides with you, but we'd tie if she sided with me.
