Anya closed the shop on Christmas Eve with a sigh, locking the door after the last customer. She looked around and the mess they'd made. Displays rifled through. Bins picked through. Crystals rummaged through. Tarot cloths were tossed willy-nilly back in the pretty basket she'd had them in

God, how he hates Christmas. And what's worse is that this Christmas, Fraser decided he needed to go home, so Ray's bored and alone and ... he had met that Anya girl and he recalls her saying she worked in a magic shop.

He finds the number in the phone book quickly enough and figures it's worth a shot to call, so he dials. Maybe he's not the only bored, lonely person on Christmas.

"Magic Box II, how can we make your day more magical?" Anya says by rote, as she answers, her voice tired. "Except we're not open. Unless this is a major emergency."

"Um ... hey. This is ... okay, I dunno if I shoulde called, but this is Ray. We met before?"

"Oh!" Her tone shifts to a friendly one. "Of course. Hi, Ray. And it's totally okay for you to call whenever."
