Update on My Life

Jan 27, 2005 16:51

I haven't done one of these in a bit. I've been busy. College is not easy, people. Juggle it with owning a store and you get a sensation of time flying by at the speed of light. Does it actually do that anywhere do you think ( Read more... )

Hey. How are you? Um, aside from school and the store, I mean.

I'm good. I've met intersting people at least.

How's being evil working for you?

Anya... can you do me a favor... if you are still talking to me.

Cory?

I thought you got your head chopped off or something. What with the abrupt cessation in communications.

Obviously I'm still talking to you, if...miffed.

What do you want me to do? I'm not agreeing to anything until I know what it is.

Nice to know some people are. *sighs*

I'm... leaving town. I don't know for how long. I got my financial matters taken care of but... I have a problem. It's my car. Can you... take it to a friend of mine? Her name is Amanda Montrose. She will know what to do with it.

I'd ask you to take care of it but... It might be a long while before I come back. I don't know.

I don't do the silent treatment well. I have things to say.

I guess I can take it to Amanda. I know who she is. Or I can take care of it. Not like I'm going anywhere anytime soon. Either way.

Why are you leaving?

I'm glad you're liking college.

And I'd love to help you turn your fellow students into toads or nerds (the sweet tangy crunch kind?)

And...might I sit in on your ethics class?

I'm loving college.

I meant the people who like school kind, not the candy.

They giggle through class. I'm there to learn to make money. Their giggling is distracting.

Of course. Don't giggle. But you can frighten her.

And I do not giggle. But I can frighten. Yesss.

Changing their basic personality structure is more difficult than transformation into inanimate objects.

You could giggle. Just not in class.

Frighten is good. She's not very open to alternative forms of ethics.

Kane blushes. "Thank you.
I'm glad you're enjoying your classes.
We should do something special for February--
Imbolc's coming up, so's Valentine's Day." Frowns
thoughtfully.
"What ethical dilemma were you discussing?" Curious.

Anya beams at him, "Oh you're welcome. It's the truth. And, yes, I had some ideas for both. I already ordered a lot more candles, as people will need them for Imbolc. I think some groups are doing their rituals this weekend. Valentine's Day...lots of red and pink candles, rose quartz, rose oil, harmless love spells, etc, I'd think. And decorate. Hearts and everything everywhere," she says with just the tiniest wrinkle of her nose. "God, but this goes against the grain."

She sighs. "It wasn't even business related, which is stupid. She drew up this Charter for Human Rights drawing on social and human customs from history. It's basic tenets were the right to torture and enslave at will, infanticide and euthanasia. The she asked if it was a step forward or a step backward."

"That's a ...well." Doesn't say it sounds like an idiotic question for a college professor to ask, because now he suspects a trap. "Given modern events,
there could be quite a debate on some of those. Heck. Some people consider abortion--a legal choice--as infanticide. Euthansia, right to die laws--a narrow line."

"Yes," Anya says with a nod. "But everyone just said, 'Oh, how horrible.' I suspect she was going toward the abortion and right to die issues, but my take on it stopped her."
