This was somewhat entertaining read. Honestly, I am not sure why would anyone who was not part of this theater of absurd called USSR finish this book. Off course , the public disagrees with me as the book is now being translated into 15 languages, one of them being Russian. I am sure it will sound and feel totally different in Russian. How fun! I am reading it right now. Savoring it slowly so far.

What impressed me at the outset is that she is the author of the ever elusive and out of print "Please to the table". Must admit that was part of the reason I picked it up (and the main reason my was that my husband noticed it, brought it to me, and his description intrigued me).

No, Jeremy hasn't. He has heard of it, but that's not why he noticed the book. I realized it after I started reading the foreword.
