unrealistic expectations

So my oldest boy was required by his accelerated program at school to participate in the science fair. He had no choice. If he was to stay in S.C.O.R.E then he had to be in the fair. He wasn't overly happy about it. This boy is my 11 year old. He is a strange creature...

Let's watch the animal in his natural habitat )

I swear that you are me. "C" as my 11 year old is called, also has to do a science fair project. It's not required for his A.G. program, but the entire 4th and 5th grade. The same thing happened last year - throw it together, and then wonder why he didn't win. Good grief.

See I thought it was just him. He gets really upset when he doesn't win the prize in things. He isn't athletic at all and he can beat just about any playstation game in a week or less. (when he tries, and often he will say I will beat this in 3 days mom. Don't step in front of the tv I swear. "MOM!" LOL) Sometimes I just wonder where his thoughts are. It's like he doesn't always see the big picture even though he acts more mature then his 13 year old sister. He always has.

C always thinks if he starts anything, he will win it or be proficient in it immediately. He quit piano after a year cause he wasn't a famous star already. Like A, he isn't athletic, but he will try to beat any game in a week or less. LAst night he was getting so frustrated at some Naruto game, I finally turned off the tv.
