at trivia last night, we won 1st place by a margin of 9 points. 9 friggin points! My most exciting contribution had to do with the handout, which featured 5 pictures of cartoon characters from the 80s. Mind you, it was a b&w photocopy, so it wasn't as easy as this:
And of course, everyone else on my team said, "Oh, it's Jem and the Holograms," but I had a nagging suspicion that was wrong. After much soul-searching, I convinced them to change it, and lo, I was vindicated.
Also: there was a Gossip Girl question (What actress plays Serena van der Woodsen?-- I was like, please, can we have a hard one?) with a bonus (in the pilot episode, why does Serena return to Manhattan from boarding school?).
and speaking of Gossip Girl . . .
THE WRITERS' STRIKE IS OVER!!! I CAN HAVE MY TV SHOWS BACK NOW!!! HOUSE! GOSSIP GIRL! THE FUN NEVER HAS TO END NOW!!!
I know it's *wrong* to let TV shows play such a significant role in my joy, but dammit, it just feels so right.
