The Weekend / Vacation

Alas the 4 day weekend/vacation came to an end, but on a very good note.

Thursday and Friday I went on vacation with my girlfriend's parents to a cabin out in the woods near lake Anna (I Think). As I am still alive you can assume it didn't go too badly, when we first got there the A/C was not working, in the 90 degree weather I might add. So I got to be all manly with the dad, after about an hour, and almost getting electrocuted several times, we got it working. Did I mention lake Anna is one of those lakes used to cool a nuclear reactor? Well it is and if I glow or develop any super powers i'll be sure to let you know! Anyway we went out on the lake for a bit with her family, including her 1 yr old nephew who is at the stage where if he doesn't get what he wants he repeatedly bangs his head into the closest solid object.

Friday, another day in which I got blasted by the heat, we went to Bush Gardens. Once we split off from her parents we went straight for the water rides to cool off, and it felt oh so good! We didn't get to walk around as much as i would have wanted but we got to do what we were most interested in, a few roller coasters, 4-d adventures, and I enjoyed Ireland the most.

Saturday we came back and got ready for Jeff and Lucy's wedding and congregated with some guildies for a little pre-wedding celebration.

Sunday, Jeff and Lucy's big day! Unfortunately I felt a bit under-dressed as I was told church / business-casual and it seemed everyone was wearing suit's, tie's, and coat's but oh well. The ceremony was fantastic and has inspired some ideas about what I want for my own someday. The groom looked great, I go so far as to describe him as looking stately, and the bride was simply glowing! Next, after some shop-hopping because they were closed since it was Sunday, we finally found a coffee shop and got a smoothie. The reception also went well, I was not expecting breakfast but I got to try mimosa for the first time and it was indeed a very good selection of breakfast foods.

All in all, it was a very well planned and executed wedding. Congratulations!
