new jersey, no longer the armpit of the USA

Feb 19, 2007 20:16

i'd just like to mention that new jersey became the 3rd state to support civil unions today!

link to ABC article

ps i've never actually been to jersey & therefore have no opinion of it whatsoever but i thought the title would be clever since everyone else always mocks jersey.

Hooray for Jersey!

Also, everybody knows that Rhode Island is the armpit of America. It's definitely the armpit of New England, which is kind of like the skyward-extended fist of the Unted States. Rhode Island is positioned perfectly.

Ummm. No. It's still the armpit of America. If you ever want to see Jersey's true splendor, drive on the northern chunk of the turnpike (but don't get off the highway to go towards NYC). The ground has been sucked dry. It's kinda sad.

Although...I don't think it smells as bad as Gary, Indiana.

Anyway, that's good news on civil unions. hurray!

Gary, Indiana. *shudder* that place is by far the most wretched place i've had the fortune to, more than once, drive through.
