missed opportunities

I remember noticing, back when Clinton was still in contention for the nomination, that news articles were using "he or she" in that exact same situation and thinking just how ground-breaking that was.

Sort of related, I thought this video on Obama's VP choice and the fact that it seems to be coming down to all men was interesting:

I've noticed they are still generally using "he or she" for the vice presidential choice. I don't know about Salon, but I read way too much about this stuff and I'd say both Sebelius and Clinton are considered in the top five or so possibilities for the Democratic VP by the conventional wisdom, for what it's worth. Along with Biden, Bayh and Kaine.

A lot of people also seem to think McCain might choose a woman, but only if Obama does not.
