Summary : When a manga lover super idol encounters a cute but nerdy manga fan?
“Dai-chan! Stop reading the manga and help me to keep these books!” A lanky boy whined as he stared at his co-worker who was also his childhood friend sitting on the stool while immersing himself in a manga.
“Shush Yuto. I’m getting to the excited part now.” Daiki waved Yuto off without tearing his eyes away from the manga. Yuto stomped his feet childishly and decided to just keep the books himself, knowing that it was impossible to pull Daiki away from a manga.
Yuto and Daiki were both working in a bookstore which consists mostly of manga -that’s why Daiki agreed to work here- and usually spend their time in this particular place. Yuto was a tall and dashing boy with body to die for while Daiki was just plain adorable with his baby face and bangs. However Daiki, for some reason, decided to wear a nerdy pair of spectacles to conceal his baby face in which Yuto made tons of comments about it and even begged him countless of time to not wear it.
Yuto was deep in thoughts and did not notice that Daiki had finished reading his manga and was now standing behind him, causing the lanky boy to bang into Daiki which made his glasses fall. Lucky for Yuto, the hindrance on Daiki’s face was stepped by him and he knows that Daiki don’t bring his extra spectacles to the shop, making him have no choice but to stay like that for the rest of the day.
“I hate you Yuto.” Daiki glared at Yuto, angry at him for stepping on his spectacles.
“It’s not exactly my fault Dai-chan.” Yuto crossed his arms and ignored Daiki’s glare. “I didn’t know you were behind me since you are so short.”
“Hey! It’s not my fault that I don’t have your genes.”
“Whatever Dai-chan. You look better like this so it’s fine if you don’t wear those nerdy specs.” Yuto said and was about to continue when he heard the bell ring, indicating that a customer had come in. Yuto followed Daiki to the entrance and widen his eyes when he saw who it was.
It was Yaotome Hikaru, the most popular super idol right now and to see him in real was a big shock to both Daiki and Yuto. Yes, even though Daiki is a manga otaku, he still knows who Hikaru is and those that have never heard of Hikaru must have been living under a rock for their entire life.
“What are you looking for?” Daiki stuttered. He didn’t want to embarrass himself in front of a huge idol but he has no choice but to be the one to serve Hikaru as Yuto had already dashed back to their lockers and called his boyfriend, Keito, telling him about the big news.
Daiki wondered how Hikaru managed to get into the shop with no fans trailing behind him as he wasn’t wearing any mask or hat to hide his identity but forgot all about it when Hikaru replied, “You.”
Hikaru had no idea what just came out from his mouth but immediately waved it off as a joke as he saw the boy in front of him widen his eyes more -if that was even possible- with his mouth agape.
“Keito! That Yaotome just said that he wanted Dai-chan!” Both Daiki and Hikaru could hear Yuto yelling into his phone while bouncing excitedly.
“Shut up Yuto!” Daiki shouted to Yuto with a tint of red on his cheeks.
“So…his name is Dai-chan.” Hikaru nodded his head and whispered to himself. He had no idea why this ‘Dai-chan’ in front of him intrigues him this much but Hikaru just have the urge to want to know more about him.
“Dai-chan…right? Can you show me where all the latest manga are? I was busy so I didn’t have time to buy it.” Hikaru gave his famous toothy grin which made all the girls and even Daiki want to faint. Daiki nodded his head and motioned for Hikaru to follow him.
As Daiki was leading Hikaru to the corner of where the latest manga was placed at, the super idol was running his mouth about a few manga he loves so much that he was willing to read it over and over no matter how many times it is.
“I know that feeling! I have plenty of manga that I really love and would always re-read it over and over again!” Daiki broke into a huge smile. “But Yuto always complains about it when he sees me reading the same thing again and again.”
Hikaru’s urge to know about the boy increased even more and they spent at least an hour talking about manga. Unfortunately, Hikaru had work tomorrow morning so he had to return home to rest but promised Daiki that he would be back tomorrow afternoon. That night, Daiki was wearing a smile even until he sleep which made Yuto keep teasing him about it.

“Is Dai-chan here?” Hikaru asked as he stepped in the store only to be welcomed by a boy he recognized as Yuto.
“Oh you’re looking for Dai-chan.” Yuto gave a teasing smile to Hikaru and pointed to the counter, telling him that Daiki was there. But when Hikaru reached the counter, all he saw was a nerdy boy reading manga with full concentration. Hikaru wondered if Yuto was lying to him since this nerdy boy in no way looked like his beloved Dai-chan other than the fact they both seemed short. Oh wait, did Hikaru just said beloved? Yep! Yep he did. Hikaru banged his head on the table for having such thoughts which startled the nerdy boy and made him jumped in his seat.
“Hikaru-kun? You really came!” The nerdy boy put down the manga and looks at Hikaru with a wide smile. Hikaru recognized that lovely voice and was sure that it was his ‘Dai-chan’ but he doesn’t look like him at all!
“Are you…Dai-chan..?” Hikaru asked slowly, voice laced with unsureness.
“I am!” Daiki took of his spectacles and looked at Hikaru. “Can’t you recognize me?!”
“Well…”
“It’s not his fault Dai-chan.” Yuto walked and stand next to Hikaru. “I couldn’t recognize you at first when you started wearing that spectacle even though I knew you for a long time.” Yuto raised his eyebrow.
“Why are you wearing it anyway?” Hikaru asked, curious about the reason.
“It’s because…” Daiki averted his eyes from both the taller boys. “It’s because I don’t like my baby face.”
“Wha-! Just because of that?!” Yuto exclaimed and Hikaru started laughing his guts out.
“You don’t have to wear it though. I think you look cute with your baby face.” Hikaru smiled and patted Daiki’s head while Yuto rushed off to call Keito again, annoying his boyfriend about the latest gossip between Daiki and Hikaru.
“Other people may not like it…” Daiki mumbled under his breath with his head down, cheeks flushed red since Hikaru’s hand was still on his head.
“Does it matter if other people likes it or not?” Hikaru moved his hand down and cupped Daiki’s cheeks, making the shorter boy look up. “It’s enough as long as I like it isn’t it?”
Daiki stared into Hikaru’s eyes, ignoring the fails Yuto was gushing from the back of the store. “C-can you explain what you mean more clearly?”
“It means,” Hikaru brought the other hand up to Daiki’s cheek and got closer, their nose almost touching. “I like you.” and without waiting for Daiki’s reply, Hikaru leaned in and kiss Daiki on the lips. Daiki replied the kiss as he circled his hand around Hikaru’s neck, pressing their lips together ever more.
“You two progress quite fast considering you just met each other yesterday.” A deep voice interrupted the new couple which made them part from each other quickly with their faces flush red.
“Keito!” Yuto came running and jumped into Keito’s strong arms happily. “Why are you here?”
“I forgot to tell you that I actually know Hikaru too.” Keito nodded to the idol, “And he was all flustered about this boy he thinks was really cute and about how to confess to him so I came to see how he was doing.”
“Keito! Don’t say that here!” Hikaru blushed even more and saw a wide smile plastered on Daiki’s face.
“So you didn’t come here for me.” Yuto pouted.
“Of course I came for you too.” Keito peck Yuto on the lips and wrapped his arms around the lanky boy’s waist lovingly.
“Go home and do that.” Daiki rolled his eyes and pulled Hikaru into the locker room with him, leaving Yuto and Keito to look after the store while he tempts Hikaru by changing in front of him and who knows what they will be doing inside.
