Personality:
Kaito has multiple personalities, which is set depends on his 'Master'. When he's not needed (or left alone), his A.I. will set automatically to his actual personality, his normal mode. Kaito as the second oldest of the VOCALOID family after Meiko, he's one caring person and brings joy to the whole family. He has a figure of being a father and big brother at the same time, but he's a bit childish for certain situations. To sum up, he and Miku shares almost the same personality.
Although he's a senior, he's not being the smartest person. His IQ couldn't defeat Len's and sometimes his deed might lead to his mistake. One reason he tries to do that because he likes to take attention. Due to his actions, he often got scold by Meiko and the rest of his family do nothing but watch. This turns out he had his own funny nickname, 'Bakaito' or 'Idiot Kaito', which is several times been called by Meiko.
Besides being pity and idiot, he is actually capable of holding several roles from his career of singing and acting on the stage. He also has a perfect control of his feeling through the songs. But when it comes romance part, he becomes less talking and being shy for some reason. Not to mention, he loves to play instruments. Most of all instruments, he mostly plays piano and electric guitar because they are notable instruments. However, his voice is a bit cocky as his sound is hardly to get less-synthesized and more human-ish.
Most of VOCALIODs, Kaito is not a good fighter. Well, he's a man, but not manly enough. Although, he shows he's being protective to his family especially Miku, Rin and Len. However, he can't win the strength against Meiko. This makes him wonder by himself how to be strong despite being the male (minus Len) of the family. He secretly asks Gakupo for some advice and lesson.
Each of VOCALOID has their own special item, which symbolize their favorites. Kaito' s favorite is ice-cream, especially the brand of Haagen-Danz. He got strong obsession with this item, and it does fit him perfectly. Kaito eats ice-cream five times or more in a day. He can eat almost all flavor of ice cream, but he usually be seen eating the blue flavored, vanilla and watermelon. One good thing about him being a sweet tooth, he doesn't have a toothache. Kaito hates spice the most. He could handle a small amount of them, but if too much,
he would get sick.
Background:
Kaito was the second VOCALOID, who created by Crypton Future Media company, two years after Meiko. He's not actually a living person, but he's a voice synthesizer program, which used for communications and entertainments. After his voice recording, the company decided to create full appearance for Kaito, which is as he looks in the package. When he and Meiko were published, the sale wasn't going too well, and the company considered that both were failures.
After a year of absence, the company created the 2nd generation of VOCALOID, and Kaito welcomed the birth of Hatsune Miku. Surprisingly, she did the job much better than Kaito and Meiko. Her sales went over the top, and being the most popular idol in VOCALOID history. Kaito was very proud of her, although he knew they were in different standard. Due to Miku's popularity, she kept busy with her songs and had no chance to spend time together.
Until one day, Miku sent a made up song through the internet with a title, 'A Request From Hatsune'. The contains of the song, there's a lyric wrote, "Where are you and what are you doing now?". Kaito, who was watching her from time to time, answered her with a song titled 'An Answer To Hatsune Miku'. The replay was, "I was eating an Ice-cream" and his last word of the song is "Miku, let's eat it together next time." This is where the fate of Kaito changed.
The company noticed the request song between Kaito and Miku, and it's clearly Miku was lonely. They called Kaito to the studio, and he was allowed to sing again. Kaito couldn't tell how happy he is. After he released his songs, the sale went up twice as before. He also became the second most popular idol among the fangirls. He couldn't thank Miku enough, but Miku was glad Kaito is now by her side. They even had a duet song, which is one of the best Kaito's song he ever made.
His journey was just started, as he greeted newcomer twins, Kagamine Rin and Len. They were adorable, but at the same time they are quite troublesome. Two years later, Megurine Luka was created. Kaito realized his job wasn't only to sing, but taking care all of them. Thanks to Meiko, she is also sharing the same job. That is why they aren't siblings, not blood related, but all of them consider as his family.

Kaito is a voice synthesizer program, and so the rest of VOCALIODs. He has the ability to sing for hours without strain and ability to interface with compatible computers, there's nothing so remarkable about him that people would notice. Kaito also as a free-roaming "Program" able to jump from any machine that is connected by the Internet. He can manage himself pretty well and always be there in time. Try not to beat maths with him, his calculation is perfect. He also stores almost all databases of songs inside his memory.
Kaito is also as same as ordinary computer, able to change mode. The modes are, Bakaito mode; being an idiot, Yandere mode; his rare mode of being possessive to other people, Sleep mode; sets low power and making him 'sleep', and Shut Down mode; completely shut down or 'dead'.
Advocate Note:: Why not? No matter how dumb he is, he respects requests from anyone. Another reason that he can't avoid is he's a robot and has been programmed to obey orders no matter how impossible it is.
