You can also get a dongle to convert DVI to HDMI, they are fully compatible and it is just a case of connecting the correct pins.
There are then only two remaining problems.
• Does your PC have enough oomph to supply video at 1920x1080 pixels? For video files (films, TV episodes, Blu-Ray discs) this is not normally a problem for any computer over 2GHz multi-core clock speed.. For games this can be a huge problem, as only really, really fast PCs (3.5GHz+) with very expensive graphics cards (£150+) will be able to keep up with decent framerates at 1080p for the latest games. Consider 720p for games.
• Are you trying to play commerical Blu-Ray discs from your PC? These tend to use HDCP High Definition Copy Protection, you will need to make sure that all of your graphics card, your video cable, your Blu-Ray drive and your playback software are HDCP compliant.
