I like how you put the thing about God.
I too am tired of people blaming God for everything.
Especially the weather. "Acts of God"? didn't He give control of the weather to Satan?

I tend to have a different view on what "fate" is than was is given to us.
I see fate as more of the result of your actions: it's unavoidable because of what you've done.
Which totally goes against the dictionary definition, because that means we can control fate and such because of our choices...
I got into a big discussion about this during English last year.
