[ It's Yaozou's one day off.All the boys are out. Renzou is with their young master off at school. Kinzou and Juuzou are with Mamushi on a small expedition to catch some unidentified minor demons making a fuss in a nearby village. His wife is with their remaining three children on a much-needed vacation, according to her, and Yaozou had been all

He spent at least a good half hour treading along cautiously, without any sort of explanation for his appearance here. Until he heard a familiar voice, and picked up his pace to seek its origin--ah, hah! His father is here, as well!
Wait, what? ]
Pops!
[ He stops only a few paces behind his old man. ]

Living eldest, at any rate. ]
Juuzou? Aren't you supposed to be with your brother and Mamushi? [ Because a demonic culprit stops making sense once you take into account that Juuzou would have been miles from him at the time of his abduction, or whatever this is. Yaozou feels a tension headache coming on. Hello there, old friend. ]

Supposed to be.
[ He raised a hand to rake through his own hair, still at a loss over this situation. His attention shifted around this hallway, looking for anything which might indicate their location. ]
This place does seem a bit familiar...

[ Yaozou may have only been here a few times in his life, but it's a sight he's hard-pressed to forget. Their Headmaster, or if not him then whoever had the school built to its present specifications, has somewhat of a fondness for strange architecture. His voice is a little less gruff on account of speaking to Juuzou, as Juuzou is the only one of his Exorcist sons who takes his role in the family even remotely seriously. The boy is rash and hot-headed and gets into his fair share of tumults, but... His heart's in the right place.
Now if only that could be said of Kinzou and Renzou as well. Sigh. ]
Some situation we have here. Come on, then. Let's do some rounds and see if we can't figure out what's going on.
Watch your back.

But he will be doing his best to stay out of that guy's way, since y'know, he technically was a demon.]

And then he hears and sees those pompoms that are identity markers his father and pauses mid-step. That is his father, isn't it? It's hard to tell when he's staring at the back of the man's head, but everything matches from the voice to the hair color to the outfit. But you know what, it sounds like his father; therefore, it must be him! Yes! ]
Pops? What are you doing?
[ Why aren't you in bed, are you hallucinating. ]

Yep, definitely Kinzou. It's almost like the further down the line his children go, the fewer worthwhile genes they inherited. There's no need to even speak of Renzou. Yaozou feels blessed whenever that boy remembers how to breathe. Buddha have mercy on their Bon, with only Renzou and Konekomaru for aides.
It's uncanny, really. How Yaozou can be the father of six living children and still be entirely uncertain whether or not the Shima name will last another generation. Ucchuṣma is going to be completely unattainable another generation or two from now, he can just see it.
...
Right, Kinzou. ]
I'd like to ask you the same thing. Aren't you supposed to be with Juuzou and Mamushi?

Oh, he remembers the good old days. When his eldest was still alive and far outpacing his peers, when Kinzou's vacant stares were more cute than worrying and the spit bubbles he made could be considered a crowning achievement. Yaozou would give just about anything to go back to that simpler, more innocent time.
But he doesn't have that time anymore. All he has is this, and he almost wishes he still had it in him to be confused when Kinzou opens his mouth and it feels like some other language entirely comes out. ]
Why would Mamushi be at--
Better from what?
[ ...Kinzou's stupidity is reaching truly astounding heights, Yaozou is realizing just now. Kinzou's now so slow that he's out the other end and Yaozou just can't keep up with him. ]

You rang, Mr. Shima? *and have a smile and a bow*

[ a.k.a. the last face he expects when abruptly abducted from his home and deposited in True Cross Academy grounds. Also the first face he expects to see, now that he gets to thinking about it. Dammit. ]
Is there some kind of emergency...?
Reply
but yes it is probably fairly natural to see the Headmaster standing around in his own school, actually. Mephisto chuckles a bit as he reaches up to tap his chin, then gives a bit of a shrug.*
In a way, I suppose one could say so? But I haven't called you here for any emergency, Mr. Shima. Actually your being called here in the first place is the problem in itself. *pausing with a brief chuckle* --Well, one of them.

And seeing that Mephisto isn't making a lick of sense, Yaozou straightens his posture and does his level best to scrape his composure back together. Even if the Japanese Branch Chief is a little on the, er, unconventional side, Yaozou is still representing Kyoto here and he's not about to bring shame to over ten generations of Buddhist-sect Exorcists. ]
Er-- Sorry, come again? I don't think I follow.
