A sad truth, my friend. The only thing I'll write for the Professor Layton fandom is my AU in which Claire lives. I simply cannot bear the canon where Layton fails to get over her.

Yeah, I'm leaning towards regular update-- gets more feedback for each page that way, and more interest in what's to come then just dumping it all out in one go.

Seems to me people like AUs more then I thought. XD; it's not even that off from the games timelines... just enough that it's a bit jarring. S'not like they're all suddenly Space Pirate Ninja rangers or nothing.

Do whatever's most fun. If you write it as an AU just say you got screwed over by the new canon and your readers will understand.

It's not so muc... well okay, yeah. I would have to drastically change the timeline of the story to fit into the timeline of the game, and a scene I'm really proud of at the start is kinda screwed over completely by the new stuff added in the timeline.

I usually try to fit stuff into the timelines I'm given, just fudge it around a bit. This change though is enough that fudging won't work to well.
