Valentine's Day Fics (part 2)

Author’s Notes: A batch of fluff fics done for our Valentine’s Day fic exchange with freysan , ikerasu_0305 and haruna_io . Since I’m addicted to so much sap... I wrote the fluff series!!! (^_^) A bunch of thanks to kage_no_kodoku for giving us the idea for the prompts.
Phrase prompt: ‘waking up to birds singing’ (AU)
Yuichi opens his eyes from the constant chirping of the lovebirds in the veranda outside their room. The tunes they sing every morning has been his wake-up call for a year now since Koki gave it as a birthday present. But today will be the last time he’d ever hear Piko and Pakko sing.
He lazily gets up from bed and walks outside the veranda. Koki is already sipping his coffee and greets him warmly. He sits beside him and fiddles with the envelope resting on the table. He opens it and finds two plane tickets inside.
“Everything is settled. We’ll be leaving tomorrow morning.” Koki explains with a smile. The day they have been planning for years now has finally arrived. They will fly to a country where they can live freely, away from people who judge them and their love for each other. Tomorrow, they will start their journey to a new life.
Yuichi nods and walks to the lovebirds’ cage. He opens them and lets the birds fly away. Koki’s eyes widen in surprise.
“They have as much right to freedom as we do.” Yuichi says confidently. “No matter where they go, as long as they stay together, they will keep singing the same love song every day.”

They sit facing each other not too distant but not too close. Everyone has gone home after a whole day of practice and they are the only people left in the dance studio. Koki looks at him gently, passing him a bottle of water as they try to regain their energy.
“I’m so tired today...” Yuichi says with a heavy sigh.
“That’s normal.”
“Right. Everything in me is so normal. Makes me wonder why you like me.” A tinge of bitterness and doubt mixed in his voice. He downs his drink and looks at his reflection in the mirror.
Koki crawls closer to him and squishes his flushed cheeks. “Why do you always say that?” He settles beside him now, facing the same direction and points at Yuichi’s reflection. “That normal person staring back at you has made many people so much happier with his extraordinary talent... Has made his friends and family feel proud and most of all has made Tanaka Koki’s life complete.”
Yuichi can’t help but smile.
“Now...” Koki continues, “compared to THAT person...” he slowly points towards his own reflection, “that bad boy who smokes and drinks and goes to clubs almost every night, that bad boy who easily loses his temper and always curses and gives the people around him so much headache... THAT person doesn’t actually deserve someone like Nakamaru Yuichi.”
“That baka...” Yuichi responds, “That baka named Tanaka Koki, though a bad-ass at most times, is truly a gentle person inside who cares so much for his friends as much as he does for his family. He does his best at work and values his career. He thinks of others more often that he thinks of himself and is not afraid to express how he feels. And most of all, that bad boy is able to make one normal Nakamaru Yuichi feel like he’s the most special person on Earth.”
There is nothing but silence after that until a slight sniff echoed. Yuichi quickly turns his head just in time to see a tear roll down Koki’s eye.
“Eh???” Yuichi exclaims. “Why are you crying?”
Koki quickly wiped his cheek, turning away from the other. “Are you stupid? Why would I cry?”
Yuichi just tackled him on the wooden floor and kissed him. The stubborn man won’t admit it anyway.

Whew... I thought I wouldn’t be able to complete the prompts. I’ve changed a lot of them until the last few minutes. O_o Doing this with my TaNakamaru friends is soooooo fun... Maybe we should always do this on special occasions. LOL.
