Darkendale Ball

I had an absolute blast this weekend monstering the Darkendale Ball. Other than my usual wibble immediately upon arriving onsite I had a remarkably stress-free weekend, and being allowed to nap while the players enjoyed the ball even meant that I had the energy to stay up late and join the singing on the last night ( Read more... )

I doubt you saw any of my interaction with Sarah, but it was great fun roleplaying with her. I was grateful that everyone playing servents was someone I knew OOC so I was happy playing Sid's "noble" style and assuming people would stand aside, acknowledging with a slight nod rather than a conversation etc. I ended up telling off a few Lions for not doing the same, as though they were so special that the servents had to learn their names rather than call them "milord". It was a rather different way of doing things but it was great fun and greatly helped by the fact it was friends ooc.

I almost dropped it twice with Sarah, once nearly congratulating her on her duel and once nearly comparing her extremely favourably with Seraphim. Managed not to be too inappropriate though :-)

[Further to my comment on Dessie's post] OK, *now* I'm sorry I didn't go. No-one told me I could've played a proper servant! One of my favourite roles to play :-)

Sound like you did really well, and had a ball (no pun intended) - yay :-)

*hugs*
It'd have been cool to have you there.
(Although it might have been awkward with me playing a Sarah and you *being* a Sarah :P )

"Hurriedly stopping glaring when somebody I actually liked/respected stepped into the path of my death-glare"

Yeah, I couldn't work out if you stopped glaring at Karen because she was one of the Darkendales and so you weren't supposed to, or whether you respected her (Rightly or wrongly, I settled on the former). The servants did a great job of unsettling Karen all weekend because yet again, she couldn't figure out where she stood with any of them :-)]
You guys were awesome

There was more than one Darkendale (at least by the end of the weekend) that I glared at regularly, so take from that what you will :)

In other words, the mere fact of someone being a darkendale wouldn't stop Sarah from glaring at them. So if I wasn't glaring, it's 'cos I didn't feel the need to glare.
