Credit to Star-chan for the inspiration and umbrella prompt! <3 (I should do some of the prompts listed on the community too). It's worksafe and crossposted. :P
Raindrops began to patter down noisily on a somewhat overcast afternoon in the village of Konoha. Rock Lee looked up at the sky curiously as the first drops touched down on him and immediately considered purchasing an umbrella, since he planned to finish his remaining 200 laps around the vicinity... and an unnecessarily soggy, flopping jumpsuit did not equate to dapper youthfulness. Reaching the market district, he reached for the last umbrella on display and brushed hands with another customer. Lee withdrew from the umbrella and stepped back, immediately set on apologizing. Then his eyes widened. "Sasuke-kun!" he exclaimed, his body instinctively tensed. But then Lee remembered himself and straightened his posture. "I am sorry for my clumsiness,” he said. “The umbrella is rightfully yours."
The boy across him scoffed. "Forget it," he coolly replied, and casually turned to leave.
Lee gaped after him, dumbfounded. "Wait!" he shouted, running after him. "Sasuke-kun! I cannot accept the umbrella without compromising my honor!" When he noticed the other boy kept on walking, Lee persisted: "A challenge, then! The victor will claim the umbrella thereafter!" When Lee saw his offer still ignored, he signed in resignation, and quickly bought the umbrella himself. With it in hand, he bounded after Sasuke and fell in step alonside him. He raised the umbrella over them both and turned to Sasuke with a sheepish grin. "If you will not accept this particular article, then perhaps we can share," he proclaimed, a faint blush spreading across his features.
Sasuke sideglanced Lee, clearly annoyed, but continued walking. He also couldn't help but notice that the umbrella was completely unnecessary now, considering how Lee's spandex was quite soaked, clinging unabashedly to his every contour, every curve. Then his eyes snapped back to the road, trying to make the most of what was only, as he tried to tell himself, a drier walk home.
