the studio is a place where you have all the time in the world to work out the flaws. if it sounds bad, you do another take. there are some bands that thrive from their prescence live and can't reocord for anything. there are bands that only sound good in the studio because they aren't refined and tight enough to pull it off live. there are bands who do a fantastic mix of both.

eh. I guess it all depends. a good studio can make anything sound amazing.
