good for you- i also think the message gets kind of lost, you know? why not just make a straight up donation and spare the organization the $0.30 they're going to pay that sweatshop worker?

exactly... nows its become more of a fashion statement than a good cause to support. i think most of the people who wear them dont even know what theyre supposedly supporting, its just become really trendy. at least thats how it is in my school, and my school is supposed to be liberal, i cant imagine how it is at schools that arent so full of bleeding heart liberals as mine is.

yesss. not like i had my dad pretend he was interested in playing them on his show so he could get free tickets after it was sold out. of course not.

heyyy lindsay-
i found the thing that works best for getting my parents to say yes to shows is saying 'but next year i'll be boarding and won't be able to go to any shows...' [cue sad face]. it seems to work out alright.

i'm taking grace to rilo kiley! it's her second show, aw.

the decemberists was the best show i've ever been too! i bought my friend a recording of it, i can burn you a copy if you'd like.
