Go ahead and take a minute to read this yourselfAll done? Ok, cool. Wasn't that simpler than me typing out a synopsis for you? Well, it was for me. So anyway, I had this inclination that we could keep inappropriate movies away from children with this little thing called "movie ratings". You know, G, PG, PG-13, R, etc. But apparently, people ( Read more... )

See. Thats not for real people who aren't stupid. Its for the people who protested to the PTA so that teachers would stop grading in red ink because it was a demeaning factor in thier childs life. Its for the people who blame "society" for teaching theit kids swear words when they really learned them from their dad. Its for the people who ground their kids when they even joke about being gay because theres no way their kids will turn out "like that". Its for people who think they're doing their offspring a favor by sheilding them from reality.

So, if I were you, I wouldn't worry about it.

Oh, see, then they should have just put a "For Stupid People Only" warning on it. Then that would make sense.

Dont these people realize how much they are a. editing everyones freedom b. pushing the us closer towards communisim c. wasting time that could be better used, not to mention money??
the government is not responsible for your child. the sole purpose our countrys govt was SUPPOSED to have was to make sure we didnt get killed. to provide protection, not social concerns. notice: our debt as a country was none (or under 1 million anyway) until 1950s, when social concerns became all the rage in politics. now, we are billions in debt, and growing. stop thinking the gvt is responsible for everything and own up.

That sounds like an interesting story. Very Orwellian.

I think bush lives in small whole somewhere. We already have that device. It's called a remote control. But hey, who uses antiquated technology anymore?

Also, at work, we have warnings on R-rated movies. If Timmy wants to watch Closer, I have call mommy and daddy.

But at least History goes in cycles. We will go to a 50's pop era and then everyone will shake their heads and go, "what was I smoking when I thought up that?"

Closer was a big dissapointment for me due to the lack of: A. a good plot or script, and B. any scenes of Natalie Portman showing some serious skin. I mean, come on, she was a stripper. You can't just thow on a g-string and a glittery flapper top and fenagle that.
