We left moderately early, got there, walked literally about 2 miles to the end of the line, stood in line and crept forward to get in (we joked around with the people next to us in line the whole way), climbed all around for a spot to sit, listened to the speech, and then fought back through the rest of the roughly 10,000 of us to get back to the car and home.

I'm tired, I'm sunburned, and I'm sore from all the walking and climbing stairs up and down in the stadium and on the field to find a spot to watch.

Totally fucking worth it.

This was the line behind us shortly after we got there.

Yeah. That. For a couple of miles.
It wrapped down the roads around the stadium.

We approached a corner. Look! They're moving!!

We got inside ok. Which was good. Because there were a LOT of people in line behind us and we got in just before Obama himself came out on stage and the stadium was full. Lots of people didn't get inside because there just wasn't enough room for us all.

We went pretty high up in the stands to get a little shade and a spot to sit (ended up sitting on the cement stairs at the top of a walkway). This was during the speech from off to one side of the stadium a bit. There were more people off camera in the spots that couldn't even see the stage.

It's like trying to find Waldo. Obama is there on the stage in a white shirt.

Good times were had by all.

I'm going to go find ice to put on my skin now....
