“Baby from the moment I saw those pretty brown eyes, I knew I was going to fall in love with you. Every second I’m away from you just kills me inside.”
You sigh in disgust as you continue to watch this extremely sappy movie on the couch. Your eyes begin to wander around the dark room, looking for something that interests you. A giggle is heard from your lap. You direct your eyes towards in the direction of where the giggle came from and grin.
“I’m sorry I made you watch this with me Tae-Tae. I know how much you hate romantic movies. ” Her eyes meet yours, hoping for a response.
“Sometimes I wonder why I’m still with you. Every Saturday night you put me through this torture” you tease. After you said those words she immediately got back up from your lap.
“Yah you’re so mean! I hate you” she pouted. It was the most adorable thing you’ve ever seen. Even though you’ve seen it more than a hundred times, it never ceases to break down your walls. The movie continues to play but both of you ignore it.
“You know I’m just kidding” you reach out to hug her but she turns away from you. Though, that doesn’t stop you from trying as you wrap your arms around her waist. You nest your head on her shoulder and begin to speak.
“I’m sorry” you whisper in her ear over and over again. You nuzzle against her neck. The girl seems to ignore you but shows signs of giving in. Her hands softly touch yours, breaking the hug. Surprised only for a moment, she turns around and embraces you in a hug of her own.
“I take it I’m forgiven?” you ask. Still in your arms, she gazes at you and smiles. Her eyes form perfect crescents. You can’t help but smile brightly in return. She begins to lean in slowly, as you do the same. You know what’s going to happen next. Your heart beat quickens in anticipation.
Your lips finally make contact with hers, but she pulls back immediately. Your eyes open, feeling to urge to complain about how short the kiss was. You then realize that she was looking at the screen, the two lovers on screen getting married. The lovers share a kiss, sealing their marriage. The crowd rejoices in happiness just before the screen fades into black, signaling the end. As the credits begin to fall, she faces you once more.
“Tae-Tae, are going to end up them in the movie?” she asks with hopeful eyes. You begin to reflect on your relationship with the girl. For 2 years, the relationship has been up and down. Tears have been shed, items have been broken. Hurtful words have been said, frustration was common. Though, there have been periods of bliss. Times where you have never wanted to let her go and all you wanted to do was hold her in your arms for eternity. She was your life, love, and everything. No, she IS your life, love and everything.
“No, we’re not going to end up like them in the movie” you said bluntly. Shocked by your words, she breaks the hug and looks down. You could tell she was clearly hurt by what you said, pain struck your heart.
You lift up her chin. “We’re not going to end up like them because after the director says cut, they stop what they’re doing and return to their normal lives. The main actor and actress go back to being strangers, as if they never they never cared for them in the first place. The next movie the actor stars in will have a different female that he falls in love with. The other one is long and forgotten. I don’t want that to happen to us Tiffany. I don’t want to be a stranger, and I don’t want to us to be separated. I don’t want to love anyone else, the only person I want to love for the rest of my life is you” you confessed.
“Tae-Tae…” she was rendered speechless. You curse yourself on the inside for being so cheesy but it seemed to be working now. You could tell she was trying to fight tears from pouring down her beautiful face, as she was biting her lip tightly. You begin to lean in again, and capture her lips in a more passionate manner.
Lips moving in perfect synergy, tongues dancing wildly, it was pure bliss for the both of them. Unfortunately they needed air to live and broke apart. You leaned your forehead on hers, still smiling.
“I love you too Tae-Tae. You and only you.”
