I love saving money.

My sister and I saved about $800 choosing Taca over American Airlines. We will be leaving on May 21st to take classes for two weeks at the Conversa Institute in Santa Ana, followed by one week of travel. We discovered that her American Airlines miles can be redeemed at hotels, as can my CitiCard Reward Points. We checked a few ( Read more... )

Whoooo! Congrats! Staying in 4-5 star hotels is awesome, and it's even better that you get to stay for free.

Reward points are great. I don't have a credit card, but my parents both have reward points on theirs. I would love to be referred for a Citicard by you, but unfortunately I'm not in the US.

Yeah, posting links has been weird for me too. I think it's one of LJ's "new features", because sometimes when I put a link in my comment the "normal" way, it gets marked as spam - and a hyperlink doesn't create automatically if I put a link within a journal entry; so I have to use HTML now. (I'm using Firefox as a browser.)

Haha, too bad! I think I'll make my sister sign up so I can get the $50. =)

The links problem happens to me only sometimes. And it's really irritating! I gave up and downloaded the Semagic client because I'm trying to make a huge Harry Potter fanfiction rec list and writing up all that HTML was not working for me. Not to mention that it would randomly erase some of my links after I switched back to Rich Text to take a look at it. Sigh! I hope whatever is wrong with it gets resolved soon.

I've never heard of Taca but saving $800 FTW!

I always use HTML mode for entries. It's maybe a little more work but I like the consistency (same spacing between lines, something I've had problems with in rich text mode, especially when pasting material). So...that doesn't help you at all, does it?

Anyway, enjoy the trip. I've heard good things about Costa Rica. One of my friends was there for a year working with kids somewhere. I think she found it a rich and rewarding experience.

It's a Latin American company. I heard about it from one of my friends (who is actually from Costa Rica). It was seriously 1/3 of the cost of flying American Airlines. Amazing.

I was in Costa Rica for a month last year and it was really beautiful. I'm excited.
