Title: Death Sentence
Year: 1933
Event: Adolf Hitler dissolves the German Parliament.
Characters/Pairings: Germany and Prussia
Rating: G
Warnings: Hitler (he deserves his own warning)
Summary: Prussia reflects on just what may come of Hitler's actions.

It was like the sound of the executioners axe falling. There was no sound in the room at first, everyone too shocked to say anything. But shock so gave way to anger and chaos erupted around them. Men began to shout, arguing against the decision that had just been made. Amidst the chaos however the executioner stood quietly, a smug little smile on his face.

Adolf Hitler, the new chancellor.

Adolf Hitler, the man who had just dissolved the Reichstag, effectively cutting off the backbone of the German government.

In the chaos that surrounded them Prussia looked over to his brother.

Germany’s face was expressionless, no thoughts or emotions visible on his face as he stared straight a head at that man.

Prussia felt his heart constrict. This was not good. This man would bring no good. Already he had seen the chances in his brother since Hitler had entered politics. Now Prussia had trouble recognizing the loving and happy child he had raised.

“West.” He began, wanting to say something, but not knowing what.

“He will bring us out of this depression.” Germany said voice cold. “His actions will be for the good of our people Gilbert.”

The coldness in his voice, the distance, it scared Prussia. Even he sound of his human name being spoken was of no comfort. It sounded as though he was being a dressed by a stranger, or a commanding officer, but not his little brother.

It was true their people had been doing badly since the Great War. Both of them had lost weight and muscle; they were not what they had been prior to it. But somehow Prussia did not thing that this man could fix all that in a way that would not in the end make things worse.

“If you say so West.” Prussia said turning back to watch as Hitler left the room. He still felt the executioners axe hanging about their heads, and knew things would only get worse.

Even so he promised himself to stay by Germany’s side no matter what happened.

In the end, it may prove to be all he could do.

A/N: There aren't really any. I didn't mention the German prime minister because it took away from the foreboding. Hopefully it wasn't too bad.
