Regarding the... second volume I think. I'm not so smartass about soviet union history, so I don't really know if it started to happen there, but! At the time Russia was going to Ukraine's house with Latvia claiming payment for the gas, they were still Soviet Union, or nowadays countries? Thanks for the answer, cappuholic!

btw: Ukraine belonged to the Soviet Union... and only after the fall of the Union they began to have serious problems with paying the gas (having a recession and all that jazz)
