When fanon describes him as "shorter" or "smaller"... I mean in my head he's skinnier than America, and is definitely not as muscular. But gdi he's not small.

Same here anon! I actually imagine Canada to be one of the taller nations, but at the same time he's really lanky and awkward so it's not that he's intimidating or anything.

Yes! Yes this exactly.

He can be a bigger guy without being automatically GAR-DOM. He probably has a decent body, but looks gangly compared to America (I still think he's maybe an inch or two taller than America, but America has like 25 lbs on him).

It's just... there's nothing petite about Canada...

By that logic, China should be almost as tall as America. Remember, they're going by height averages here, Canada would not be one of the taller nations. The height average is a little shorter than the American average actually, only off by 2-4 cm.

I don't think they're going by height averages. If they really were, Russia wouldn't be the tallest nation.

For the most part, they are. (And when I mean by height averages, I mean male height averages). Unless Himaruya goes out of the norm, like Russia can't fit the Huge Ruskie stereotype if he is the actual average height in Russia, and Finland's shortness is overemphasized that Finland has the shortest height average of the Nordic countries (although Iceland is currently shortest because he's 16-17 years old appearance-wise while the rest of the Nordics are at least 20 years old appearance-wise).

I dunno, I'd just rather go by stereotypes of certain nations. Tall nordics, short asians, occasionally branching into landmass sizes if I think it's fitting (huge ass russia, big but not super powerful canada).

most of them I figure to be the same height anyways. Mind you, Hidekaz doesn't even stick to his own guidelines half the time anyways.

also everyone wears a plain white collared shirt. either with short sleeves or long sleeves that are rolled up to the elbows
