oh god my roommate last year liked the room as cold as possible, and I relished it when the heater was on overdrive. She usually won by strength of will. I feel your pain, man ;_;

silly roommates liking the cold D: mine's like 'i want to be able to wear my sweatshirt in the room.'

and not being able to control the heat at all except for by opening and closing the window doesn't help. but last year my heater didn't work at all....

Yet again, feeling your pain ;_; last year it was a miracle whenever our heater worked. The dorm eventually gave us a space heater for our room, but it was difficult to be warmed by it when I always was facing my computer OTL

I'm in the same room this year with a different roomie, by god I hope the heater continues its good behavior this time around...

yeah. i tried to convince maintenance that our heater didn't work last year. like. you could put your hand on it and it felt cold (except for in the center where it felt lukewarm) and they were convinced it worked fine. so sad. so cold.

this year i moved to the top floor of the dorm, which provides lots more heat. but still. my roommate. and her obsession with the open window. ;__;
