part 135 really high balloons

Mar 04, 2010 10:35

THOSE BALLOONS AREN'T GOING TO MAKE IT MUCH LONGER. ... someone let go of some balloons near my house and a tiny dog and I are currently craning our heads out the window to see. I don't know if they're going to make it, man. Goodbye, blue and I think purple balloon. I'll miss you. Uhh. Anyway!

Enjoy part 135! :)

Who're you calling a barbarian?

It is not a concern of women, girl.

I am sure your family is waiting for you: do not shame them further.

Ah, hmm. Do I want to bring dishonor to my family...?

You sure do not.

Quick now: I do not have time to waste.

No, no, I'm pretty sure I do. What's the rush? What's an old man like you gotta do, anyway?

Rush, you say?

I am really busy. I could tell you about Suàn shù shū and all the work my people is doing, but I am quite sure you would not understand such complicated things.

Oh. Oh. I see. You think women can't count like men do, is that it?

Reply

xuanduan March 4 2010, 16:53:22 UTC
No, no. I believe women can count; animals, or food. It is an impressive skill for the well being of their families, after all.

But do you think they can graph limaçons and differentiate functions?

[ Perks up at these new foreigner words ]

What is this Limaçon? It will be nothing against me: it will be one of my provinces before the citizens even realize it.

[ clutches her side and laughs; she knows he's stupid, yes, but he's obviously not from this time ]

It's not a place! [ gets a pen and paper and draws this ] See, this is a limaçon, and its equation is r equals b plus a cosine theta. [ writes it down as she says it ]

Oh, but you wouldn't know that until Étienne Pascal studies it in the 17th century.

Who's the man that taught you this?

My brother.

More than you think.

Hm. I cannot say I agree to teaching a woman, of all people, but... please introduce him to me.
