Do you need to know something in particular?

No, just tell my anything. Things you like, find interesting, etc.

[puts face in hands and looks at you dreamingly]

Uh.

The way the reCAPTCHA system works is quite interesting. If you don't already know, it uses the human eye to digitize words that can't be read by character recognition software. It knows that you've typed in at least one word correctly by supplying one known scanned item. The other is not known to the software, and your input is sent to the system. Once there's a generally agreed-upon input for a certain word, it's placed in the digitized work as such and re-used as a known word in other CAPTCHAs.

[stares at my captcha, in awe at how complex and ingenius it is] So that's why one word often makes no sense..

Could you tell me about parts of a computer and how they work? [how romantic~] [avoids ICP/Miracle reference]

Exactly!

That's a rather broad topic! You have the motherboard, which basically works like any other circuit board; the processor, the main workings of the computer, which executes programs, but there's more to it than that...

I've barely started, and then, there's all sorts of peripherals...

How do circuitboards work? @o@

A circuitboard is simply a medium through which components of an electronic device are connected, through conductive metal printed on pathways on a nonconductive board. Power sources to devices, transducers to data processing, sensors to batteries... Circuit boards are essential to the working of many electronics, from your computer to a handheld gaming device, all the way down to to the humble electric toaster, though obviously the complexity widely varies depending on how many connections are essential to the operation of the device.
