part 206 ballet shoes

Sep 14, 2010 15:06

I was helping my mom empty out some boxes the other day, and I found a copy of "Baseball Ballerina." It used to be one of my favorite books... it was ~cool~ because she was a girl, but she could be into ballet and baseball! Scandalous. Also captcha, this is not a key I can make.

Enjoy part 206!

[just what he needed]

[brb fighting to pull it off his face, then spending the rest of the evening treating the scratches]

[ Maybe if you tried feeding me, you wouldn't have this problem! ]

[you were just flung at him, give him a break]

Au...

[puts another band-aid on his cheek]

Why are you still sitting there, hm? Are you missing your owner?

[does not expect answers, of course]

[just lying there, patiently, looking up to you.... that tail's kinda flickering in annoyance]

[ I should ask the same of you, you know. Would kuchen be too much to fetch? ]

[is unable to suspend enough disbelief to understand the speech of animals, food, fairies and the like]

Well, at least you seem to be domesticated enough to not have done that without the anon mishandling you.

...

[tentatively reaches out to pet the cat's fur]

[ Of course I'm properly domesticated. I would hope I don't appear to be some stray tomcat at all, actually. ]

[allowing the petting because awww yeah, that kinda feels good]

[feels a little better seeing how he enjoys being petted, so he keeps it up]

Hm, that ribbon... do you belong to Österreich? I didn't know he had a cat.

[purring a little, rubbing into your hand]

[ That would be correct, yes. Unfortunately, I lost my way, it seems... ]

[keeps on petting him]

I should return you to him. You don't look like an outdoor cat...

[will rather face Austria's wrath for turning up so early in the morning than take the cat home and unnecessarily stress out both him and the dogs]

[and commence bathing!]

[ Well, my paws are growing quite dirty again... such a nuisance! ]

[picks him up]

Come on, let's get you back home. - Oh, wait.

[puts him back down to adjust a band-aid that threatens to peel off, then takes him on his arm again and sets off for Austria's house]

[if the cat doesn't have other plans, that is]

[let's try perching atop that nice, broad shoulder instead! yeah, fabulous plan]

[ Chauffeur-- home, if you please. ]

[that would be a paw tapping at your cheek]

[holds his hand between the cat and his face]

Don't do that, those scratches still hurt a bit. And let me carry you properly; you'll only fall off if you keep sitting up there.

[attempts to take him off his shoulder]
