Well they both appear to be males, so I don't think that anything would come of it either way...

How can you tell that they're male, short of a DNA test?

Those colorful flags they wave around? It's just a guess. Isn't the male in most species more colorful than the female?

Often, but not necessarily...
Even so, there haven't been any less-colorful individuals for comparison.

Unless the Canadian creature is female...
