"Some claim the shoe was made of fur... others insist it was glass!" Don't mind me, just watching Ever After while writing and reading and staring at a wall. Cinderella is one of my favorite fairytales. I really like the Rodgers & Hammerstein version, too. "Impossible" has been my main ringtone for a while now, so I love it when people call

[... Wait a minute. What's that he's reading?]
[This bookworm slows, trying to catch the title as he passes. Unfortunately for Norway, it looks as if he's staring at far more than just the title.]
Reply
[Just smiles to himself, not saying anything.]
[The title is merely a elaborate way to say this is a book about human conciousness in the modern age and it's gettin crewed by technology.]
[Doesn't even look at you to say.] Would you like to take a seat?
Reply
...Wasn't expecting to see you around. But all right. If y'don't mind.
[He sinks down across from him, and tries not to appear too guarded. Easier said than done. ... Well. At least he can see what that book is from here. Not exactly his kind of thing, that.]
Reply
[Sets the book down, holding up the mug of hot water he has left.] Would you like to refill your cup there? Surely it's gone cold by now with all your spying on me, non?
[Chuckles, amused with himself. Doesn't expect anyone else to be as taken with, y'know, actually thinking a little as him. He thinks ya'll are dumb]
Reply
[He leans back in his chair. Raises an eyebrow. It had gone cold, but like hell he will give France the satisfaction of thinking he was correct about that.]
Wasn't spying on you. What makes y'think that?
Reply
You were staring at me. Rather blatantly, actually. [Smiles knowingly, just eyeing him for a moment.] Just in the area, though, I take it? Perhaps we can have our little, ah...get together now, yes?
Reply
[He catches France eyeing him. He stares right back, then looks away. Decides there isn't any reason to be bothered, at least not yet.]
Guess now's good. Seein' as we're both here. Don't have anywhere else I need to be.
[He shouldn't have said that. Should have held an excuse in reserve. Well. Too late.]
Reply
[He don't believe you.]
Ah, good. [Oh, he's so happy now, he'll even push his book aside and fold his hands on the table.] It really has been too long since I've spoken with you, more so than even your brothers. Do tell me how you've been - I trust things are well for you around here?

Can't complain. Things're goin' well enough far's my own self is concerned.
[The same can't be said for certain relations of his -- but that goes without saying.]
Surprised you'd take an interest, though.

Good, good. That's what I like to hear. I take it your country's not being thrown into too much turmoil these days, yes? It's simply terrible the things we must put up with at times. [Dramatic sigh.]
[Shrugs.]
I take an interest in all my fellow nations. Where would we be without our own kind, hrm? Someone must keep watch among us, don't you think? [AKA, be #1 Gossip.]
Reply
Think 'm capable of gettin' by without someone watching me.
[Tilts his head, raises an eyebrow]
'N with you, 's more like gossip than watchin'. Sticking your nose everywhere. It'll get nipped off one of these days, I reckon.
[Despite Norway's words, his tone isn't cold or sharp. Maybe a small bit amused - at both the dramatics, and the thought of France's habits coming back to bite him. Now that Norway has settled a bit, he's... somewhat more at-ease. This time might be all right, he thinks.]

Of course you are, of course you are, I know that very well. It's more of a....hrm, watchdog if you will. Keeping an eye out for your fellow nation. Nothing more. [Shrug.] I take the responsibility very seriously. [Not that anyone assigned him that, but, well, you know.]
[Makes a weird expression, but just laughs it off, waving away in the air.] It has not been nipped off in all this time and I don't think it ever will, though I thank you for the concern, Norway, I never expected such appreciation from you. [Sips coffee, simply smiling back at him easily.]
Reply
[He takes a drink of cold coffee; but really it's to cover up the faintest hint of smile that threatens to slip out. Norway's relaxed enough now to find France's quips funny, but he can't be having with the thought of him knowing it. So: he composes himself again before continuing.]
'Spect it was your own self what decided you need to go watch-doggin', wasn't it. Can't see what you'd get out of it.
Reply
[May or may have not seen that smile, because hey, he smiled with his eyes a bit.]
Now, the unfortunate part about this duty is that I cannot always keep an eye on anyone above Britain. [A pause.] Such as yourself. [And he's muy interested.]
Reply
[Eyes him. Did he see it? Norway can't be sure. He hopes he hadn't. One must keep up a front, after all, even if right now things are... all right. Surprisingly good, in fact.]
Now, I ain't in the habit of gettin' involved in anythin' questionable, so you'll be disappointed if'n you expect anything interestin' out of me, 'specially if'n we're talkin' personal.
[And of course this... is not entirely true at all.]
Reply
[Yes he did and he'll make that obvious with a 'haha, I seen that' smirk, then just go about his business.]
Oh! I hadn't implied a thing! I would never suspect you were into anything questionable at all. You're far too respectable a nation for anything like that. [Haha, yeah right.] ...Though I have heard rumors~
