part 24 and the pussycats

Jul 08, 2009 23:43

Guys, I'm so bad at titles.

So... I have no idea when the meme maxed as I wasn't here for it this time, but I hope it was cool! You guys seem to rock it each time.

Have fun on part 24~

It's fun to read people's headcanons but does anyone have any that you don't seem to share with many people?

-Poland doesn't go around talking about cute dresses and tops all the time. He may crossdress but he's completely "whatever" and casual about it. (For someone so loud and into talking about himself, he never really calls attention to the fact that he's in a skirt.)
-Despite the fact that Norway is the smaller, girlier one, he totally tops Denmark. He's got Denmark wrapped around his pinky. I hardly see this happening and then Norway going: "Okay, let me get off of you so you can get on me."
-Italy doesn't love Germany yet-Russia actually IS as evil as he acts. THE SMILE IS A FRONT ( ... )

What parts of history, exactly? I'm curious. As for Prussia/Hungary, I kinda liked the idea (two kickass characters with a really odd backstory, why not?), but I've yet to see any fic that really makes it work for me, so.

I know, it's not like Prussia and Hungary were best friends when they were kids, or anything.

I don't think that's what anon means. During strips where Austria, Hungary, and Prussia are adults, who does Prussia spend most of his time bothering? Austria. Not Hungary.

I ship FRUK, but I understand that there is no way that it will happen, and I can't even say if it's one-sided on France's part because the rivalry is so strong and bitter on both sides of the argument (I wouldn't put it past France to come onto England the way he does just to piss England off). I do sometimes like to think that England at least likes him somewhat and just won't admit it because it's France and because England is tsundere.

I also agree with your headcanon on his feelings for the U.S.

Yep, this is what I meant.

I..it's so complicated! I don't believe there was ever love, but I do think at certain points he grudgingly likes France.

I actually think they hang out sometimes together, but are constantly pissing each other off. They're just so familiar with each other, if there's nothing else. I think these two are just stuck together;;

If anything I don't disagree with the idea they've had angry sex multiple times over the years.

I think its complexity is kind of what I like about their relationship, though, aside from it being hilarious in real life. I think D-Day is probably a good example of how England doesn't completely hate France as much as he'd like to think, especially since he was so hurt that France didn't bother to invite him to the celebrations this year. They're probably best described as frienemies.

And, to be honest, I have a hard time seeing England in a romantic relationship with many people because he seems to have such a hard time being honest with his feelings - not just France.

-Switzerland sits on his front porch in a rocking chair shooting at children who try to get their frisbees back.
I lol'd hard.

- France stopped being a pervert and going around naked after the WWII and now he's just a housewife with Germany and Gilbert (let me use Gilbert because Prussia nowadays makes no sense)
- When the Mediterraneans work too much, their brains go in stand-by mode
- Russia enjoys France company for a tea or just for talking
- Germany is a big softie who is scared by horror movies and has to recover his childhood a little
- Veneziano doesn't want Romano in his house and pretend to be an other state (trufax)
- Ukraine under the Soviet Block was Gilbert (DDR)'s best friend, while Belarus was lurking because she secretly enjoys Gilbert
- Japan likes to make crossdress/cosplay France

I like that Italy one! I meant to put it on mine but I forgot! I always got the impression that Italy didn't like Romano much!

Here, North Italy (not everyone but lately this group has grown a lot) wants to be separated by South Italy.
So yeah, they don't get along really well :(

I would love to that to be, but I think the Christmas 2007 event is set in, well, Christmas 2007. And though 'pervert and going around naked' France is fun, but so not sexy...

Apart from that, nth'd all.

Oh well.
I don't follow the manga or just the strips anymore. I think Hetalia should be only a hint with which you can find History more appealing and all.
So--I don't consider that Christmas 2007, because it's just an omake and it's uhm, funny..? Yeah.
But I've made this headcanon because after reading about France's History and more, I've had the feeling that the depiction of the pervert could (in a little part) fit the pre-WWII France.

After the two great wars, I can't see him as a guy who wants to get in everyone's pants. Maybe a little flirty, maybe.

So you don't enjoy Hetalia on its own terms? I see it more as a cute and funny gag comic which cleverly uses excerpts from history to make things more colourful, as opposed to it being a means to an end.

No, I don't. Actually, if I read back the comics, there are only a bunch of strips which made me laugh. So yeah, I like the Historical-related part more. :)

- Russia is evil, not a misunderstood woobie.
- Japan is getting richer but also older and older
- China is unapologetically cruel and hates that he can't keep his actions secret anymore

-Japan is a bit of a dick, really. Underneath that polite, quiet exterior in his head he's secretly making snide comments about everyone to himself. He doesn't really understand that he's being mean though, he's just kind of elitist.
