I've been using the "ka" ending since the beginning. OTL I thought "krub" was a little bit....TOO manly for him to be using. I will switch it back though if you prefer him to be a little more masculine
No, no! You don't have to! This is just a suggestion. Erm, I don't know how to put this, but I'll try to be brief OTL. I'm making an arse of myself if you mun is actually Thai, but in case you're not, here we go:
Both the 'ka' and 'krub' endings are to make your sentences gentle, soft, polite and humble, and they both have absolutely the same effect. Only that the person who chooses which ending to use does so depending on the gender he/she identifies with (either naturally or by choice, of course). So it really is the gender thing that is the determinant, rather than character or personality traits, like being 'manly' or 'effeminate'. Effeminate or gay men who still identity themselves as inherently male will use the 'krub' without fail, as opposed to transgenders or transsexuals who choose to be women and use 'ka
( ... )
Maichai. Not tonight. I will stay here. I need to tell you something too! I-i want to apologize for leaving the other night. It was very wrong of me. Kothodka, Bulgaria.
Maichai! You are as pretty as Greece!...ah, maybe a different word would be better. But still. It was for an emergency. But I still feel very bad for leaving you. *hug comfortingly* Shh. It will be okay, Bulgaria.

Why would you leave me?! A-am I not good enough? What's wrong with me?! Is it because I'm not as pretty as Greece?!
