Sorry I was a bit late with this. Traffic was horrible! daheroyoudserve April 15 2013, 01:50:31 UTC
[Rocks back and forth on his feet, looking through every new crowd of people coming up the stairs from the Metro.]

Going to be slow as hell, just FYI iceandheather April 15 2013, 02:08:42 UTC
[Well. He did say he'd be there, didn't he.]

[America will probably see Norway before Norway sees him. Never one for being around lots of people, this one - he almost didn't come.]

[But he did say he'd be there, so here he is.]

Same! No problems! daheroyoudserve April 15 2013, 02:18:58 UTC
Oh! Norway! Over here!

[Pushes through the crowd to come up beside Norway, grinning widely.]

Are you ready? This is gonna be fun!

[Suddenly, America. Finally.]

[Well - ]

Of course! There's lots we can do! We can go to a museum, or paddleboat in the tidal basin, or we can go to the street festival and watch the dancing...What do you like to do?

I'd like you to get us somewhere more quiet 'stead of us standing here gabbin', that's what I'd like to do. Can't hear myself think.

[Well, this is off to a great start, isn't it.]

[Oh......]

Oh, uh, right!

[Moves an arm around his shoulder to help weave him through the crowds quickly, coming out to an empty area of the Mall.]

How's that?

[He can't help but look uncomfortable at the physical contact, considering they're in public]

[But he holds back any comment on that until they stop.]

Better.

[Edges away from that hold]

[Pulls his hands away quickly, shoving them in his pockets.]

So...uh...what sort of things are you interested in doing then? I'm sure we can accommodate...

[This is already starting to look like it was all a bad idea.]

[Eyes him. He can see that 'this was a terrible idea' look.]

Don't go thinkin' I don't want to be here.

[Brushes a bit of lint off of America's shoulder, wanting to be close but not - too close]

Was just a bit've - summat, is all.

[He won't say nerves, because it wasn't.]

Of course!

[He doesn't quite believe that, though.]

So, uh...

[He still doesn't really know what Norway would be interested in doing.]

[Continues as he'd been doing, reaching up to neaten America's hair a bit, brush some strands back into place, the way he normally might do with Iceland, except that this is an entirely, entirely different kind of situation than that, isn't it.]

What I'd like's for you to think on what I might like best. 'N then we'll do that.

[Quietly]

How's that sound, then.

[Oh that kinda tingles a bit...]

Ah, yeah...okay.

[His first thought is that he'd want to go somewhere quiet. His second thought is that there aren't many quiet places when there is a festival.]

Let's go to the...

[Think, America. Think. Art? Nature? Space? Zoo? Aquarium? UGH WHY IS THIS SO HARD]

...I guess we can start at the sculpture garden? There shouldn't be too many people there...

['There shouldn't be too many people there' is music to his ears. He eases a little, looking almost relieved.]

Sounds good.

[Gives him a nudge, just gently]

Reckon I'll feel unlaced after that, 'n then we can get at summat more to your own likin'.

[It isn't that he can't relax; it's only that -- well, he isn't about to explain, so he won't.]

Boo traffic! marqdelafayette April 15 2013, 02:12:39 UTC
[Makes his way out of the metro, clearly shaken. He's never seen nor ridden on transportation like that before. It was amazing yet terrifying. He had a lot to adjust to in the modern world.]
