in terms of story, it's....like the difference between a pencil sketch and a colored drawing. I also gave in and realized if I want to seriously get this thing off the ground and not get swallowed by real life first, I'm going to have to write it as a novel, not a manga. Well, like a "light novel," which is a style in Japan where chapters get run in magazines with a picture or two illustrating a specific scene included. I haven't figured out how to argue its Japanese influence enough to try and shop it to a manga publisher, aside from the fact my ART definitely is. And, of course, I don't have enough put to paper yet to show much of anyone.
It's progress through, and the storylines are....made of most of the same basic elements. Like, the first arc is how everyone meets and fights but not reall a small, pink dragon. Only now with things like backstory, foreshadowing, and a bit more cohesion overall. Ideally, anyway.

*laughs* You get to open the scene! And be the first one named! Even before me ^ - ~
and as for characters--it's a party and eeeeveryone's invited. fortunately I don't have to figure that out in detail for a long time to come. (everyone's got an element, and there are 2 people per element, but the 2nd people don't show up until....the 7th arc? At least, not recognized as such, most of them _will_ be people we've already met.)
On the up side, today I figured out how to make "mint tea" almost make SENSE as a cure for dragons, which is pretty awesome, even if only a few people will ever know how screwed up the first version was.
