Lamento World Guide

I know all too well how it is not to know left from right in a fandom, and how hard it can be to follow discussion or fanfic because of this. Since Lamento is a game Full Of Text in Moonspeak, it is a challenge to even grasp major plot points, nevermind all those lovely little details that went into creating this game ( Read more... )

I think this is EXCELLENT *___* I will join you on being a Lamentard. I wish I could add to it but I haven't played Rai or Bardo's route which makes me super sad. Not like I have time now...

Oh and I ordered the Visual fanbook and the manga from Amamzon Japan. It still hurts my soul that the shipping is more than my combined items (by at least 600 yen!) but I will scan as soon as it is possible for me so we can add stuff to this guide. What do you think?

Job is killing me right now, like the last hour was so draining I don't want to work anymore.

Yay, I'm glad it's useful. ^^ Glad to have you onboard. We have kuim. *chews*

Ohhhh, awesome! I'm not sure how far the manga is reliable (since I think the Togainu manga also changed some aspects of the game for the sake of fitting them into one continuous plotline), but the visual fanbook sounds great!

*huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuug* I wish I could offer some kind of encouragement or cheer-up. ):

Hahaha, kuims. I do have a plastic kuim is a little bigger than a plum. I am not sure if the candy inside of it is still good XD! Still I love the fact that Konoe likes them ( ... )

XDDDD That's cute. I think real kuims are smaller than that, though, since the game says that Konoe puts one in his mouth, so it can't be all that big.

I have the World Guidebook scanned, but what they're doing is mostly using images from the in-game CGs. I figure anyone interested enough in this guide also owns the CG set. But sure, if you can think of some other images that might be useful, why not?

XDDDD Well, a lot of fanartists have already drawn him as a cat, and I don't think his appearance changed any, save for his ears and tail. I don't think the Visual Fanbook is the same one I have, but there has been a Lamento-only artbook for a long time, namely the Lamento Works (which show the sketches and drafting works). But I'll be very much looking forward to seeing the Visual Fanbook.

Well, I'm all for it. ^^ And sure, if you think I can help, I will gladly contribute. I won't be able to come in person, unfortunately, as Yaoi-con is always in the middle of the year, is on the other side of the world and I have uni. XD

Haha, there's a ( ... )

I think you are going to like the "Green Leaves" book. I got it and I can't stop touching it because OMG, the cover is really well made (letters in relief, some shine to it). Too bad I am going to break the spine. I might have to buy another copy to make up for that but for the time being, I am really exciting I can share it to the fellow Lamentards (see, you coined another word!)

We get minor characters names and faces (if you missed them because they came and went in the action XD).

*chuu* or better *purr*

Waaaaaaah. WANT. WAHWAHWAHWAH. Isn't there any way to save the cover? Like, if you put the book on your scanner in a 90° angle? You know, one page on the scan-pad, the other hanging off the side?

OMG. Does that mean... Kaya-mommy? Konoe-mommy? Or not? ;____;

I'm sorry, but I wanted to get it out. XD

I'd already written the section about the locations at some point, so it was less work than I expected. I hope it's useful to you. ^^

This is a wonderful and awesome guide to Lamento!!! There is barely any info out there for this series but I've learned so much just from reading this.

Thank you so much for taking the time to translate and write this all out! It just made me love the series even more. ^_^

I'm glad it's helpful. ^^ And yes, there is a woeful shortage of information out there, and I've gotten a lot of questions from people who wanted to know if I was making up what I was incorporating in my fanfics, so I thought I'd put this out.

You're very welcome. ^^

*claps hands in glee* Omg yes, fantastic job! I'd imagine this would have taken ages to gather, but it's wonderful to have a translation - you can only glean so much from the game itself (especially when you're piss-poor at kanji like I am. ^_^;;) A very big Thank you!

Now I think I'll go back and replay the game again now that I can understand a lot more about it (and not just because, you know, I'm obsessed with it, nuh uh XD. I think I was born to become a Lamentard or something XDDD).

Yay, I'm glad it helps! ^^

I won't lie and say that it was easy - pulling the text from the game and translating it was an insane amount of work and I admittedly only had access to Rai's route (and Asato's route, which I haven't extracted completely yet), so I'll probably expand this guide when I run into additional information on other routes.

XDDDDD I can understand the temptation. I can hardly wait to have some more freetime again, so I can get to work on Asato's and Bardo's routes.
