well, its a new year and I am now living in a new town. We got almost everything moved out on the first, and most of it went into storage. The first few days we have just kind of been hanging out with our friends. Mary and I went and did some grocery shopping, we watched a couple of movies, and I also got some reading done.
I'm back at my mom's house for the day (and probably tomorrow too) while the kid goes to school so we can get his records transferred and he can say bye to his friends. The first thing I did was take in the phone number for the new school and start the withdrawl process from his current school.
So far today I went by work to pick up my last paycheck (I'm pretty sure its my last from there) and I got a vente gingerbread latte from starbucks a couple of doors down. Then one of my (now former) coworkers flat-ironed my hair, and I got my hair cut. Because I have curly hair that I like to flat iron, it works better to have my hair straight when it is cut. The girl who usually cuts my hair has been out on maternity leave since early November. Today was her first day back and she managed to squeeze me in for a quick trim. Because I work for them I don't have to pay for my haircuts unless its really busy and I want to be put on the list to guarantee i get one. So I got my free haircut and gave her a $5 for doing it for me. She argued with me but I insisted that she buy something for the baby, take her daughter out for ice cream...or buy herself a coffee later which i'm SURE she will need after her first day at work. LOL
After I got my haircut Kaz and I went out for some breakfast/lunch. I stopped by the bank and deposited my check, then got a balance to see where my account is at. I have been really bad since I actually started using the account to hold money last week in keeping track of my balance. At first I didn't know where my checkbook was because all I had done so far was cash checks, and deposit only enough to make card payments to my storage unit. So I now have that, and I logged on to my online banking account to see the last transactions. It looks like I'm only missing one, which I can figure out from my receipts and I can get it all squared away.
Anyway, its about time for me to get out of here to pick the kid up from school. We have to head back to Vancouver shortly, but I should have time to drop a note on here tomorrow as well.
and...Love you sis....SEE YOU SOON!!!!
