Apr 16, 2010 15:40

Date: April 16
Characters: Robin, OPEN to all characters
Location: Observation deck
Summary: Robin misses his girlfriend.
Warnings: There may be emo involved. And brooding.

Robin woke abruptly in the dark. Most of the content of his dream was already fading away, but the subject was clear. Green eyes... Groaning, he sat up. He'd fallen asleep in his jumpsuit with design specs scattered around him on the bed. He blinked fuzzily at the clock above his door- 05:32. As usual he'd awakened before the artificial dawn of the station.

Robin peeled his mask off, massaging his face with his fingertips. Green eyes, red hair, laughter. "Robin...!" He shook his head and put his mask back on, reaching for the portable he'd been using as he slid out of bed. He peered at the screen with sleep-blurred eyes, quickly arranging a playlist from the music selection he'd put on the device before settling down on the floor to stretch and meditate.

After several minutes of letting his mind float aimlessly while Clint Mansell and similar orchestral compositions played in the background, his eyes snapped open. Somehow, half-asleep, he'd accidentally put Puffy AmiYumi's "Planet Tokyo" on the playlist. He'd been surprised to find the J-Rock duo, a group he actually recognized, in the music library. They were a favorite of Star's... she'd picked up the habit while they were in Tokyo. She'd played this song frequently after they'd returned to Jump City....

"Hell," Robin muttered under his breath. Getting up, he grabbed the portable and left his room, not bothering to turn the music off as he moved swiftly down the dark corridor. He wasn't sure where he was going until he arrived at the bottom of the ladder. He climbed swiftly to the observation deck; leaving the door open behind him, he walked over to the transparent half of the dome and stood facing the dim lamp of the Sun. The song on his portable came to an end; he stared at the screen for a moment, then started the song over again, setting it to repeat. Setting the portable aside, he sat down on the floor with his back to an ottoman, his arms wrapped his knees. When the lights flickered on he didn't notice. He just sat and stared at the cold, distant Sun, as if just by trying he could pull it closer, bringing with it Starfire and everything he missed about home.
