He was cutting through the rec room on his way to the chemistry lab when the Master noticed James on the other side of the room looking somewhat distressed. The man had been one of the most suspicious of him, especially since he'd let him see the time vortex, yet he'd never had a one-on-one conversation with him. With this oversight in mind, he waved and walked over toward him. "Hello there, James," he said as he approached, perhaps a bit too amicably. He expected that this conversation wouldn't get him far, but it was best to know where things stood.

James heard the man before he noticed. He was that out of watching what was going on around him. Shaking his head, he took a deep breath to get the strength to deal with the man. James didn't like him, it hit him the first time they met and he never could understand why. Was it the vibes he sent off? Something that James was picking up that told him to be wary of this man.

"Hello," James responded, wondering where this would lead to.

The Master leaned against a nearby table, taking on a casual air. "What are you up to?" he asked, noting the irony of the statement, as James didn't seem to be up to anything at all, but doing his best to keep the irony from his tone.

"Good question," James replied. He didn't know what to do. He felt lost.

Looking at the man he knew little about, he cocked his head to the side and wondered to himself what the man was up to but at the moment he didn't care. He really didn't care.

"I think I've hit the wall in this grand experience."

Robin had been hard at work all day and had worked through lunch. When the rumblings of his stomach had become to much, he'd made himself an omelette in the kitchen. Clutching plate and silverware in one hand, he headed for the rec room with the vague idea of finding something to watch or read on a portable while he ate.

"Hey James," he greeted as he came into the room, immediately spotting the Englishman. Robin's forehead creased into a small, concerned frown. The man appeared listless and a bit... off. "...You okay?" he inquired, heading towards him.

James shrugged. He knew he was falling apart, feeling useless, and trying to figure out what to do about Richard. He wanted a fag, a good lager, and a piano. But that was a dream.

He looked over to Robin. The young man had great ideas and the ability to work on them. He felt like a pillock.

"I..." James started then stopped. He wasn't the one to feel lost, he was the one to have the answers. But this wasn't something he could handle. This was bigger than anything else he ever dealt with.

Robin drifted to a stop near May, setting his plate down on a nearby table. "I'm going to take that as a no," he said, offering a small, sympathetic smile. "...Do you want to talk about it?"

James liked the young man. He was young but had an old soul.

"What is there not to be?" he asked back.

"I'm worried about Richard. I think he's about to crack. And I can't do anything to stop it." That was one of his problems.

"And I can't blame him. I'm having my own spell around here, feeling a bit useless. Why did they pick us to be here. We're not engineers or scientest to understand all this. We're just average people."

James was frustrated. He slowly was tapping his fingers out on the table, he coping mechanism. to play the melody that is going on his mind.
