Date: June 28, after his intercom announcement Characters: Robin, OPEN to all characters Location: Rec Room Summary: Robin found dying unpleasant the first time around, and attempts to brainstorm how to avoid doing it again.
Church had already been on his way to the rec room, and so it wasn't long after Robin's announcement that he came on in through the door. "They're not gonna show up, you idiot. Clearly, nobody cares, since hardly anyone turned up last time I tried to get shit done about this. I dunno what you're expecting to happen."
Robin glanced at Church as he came into the room, but did not interrupt his pacing. "What I'm expecting to happen is I'm going to figure out how to avoid experiencing my painful gruesome death for a second time, and hey, you're here, so you can help me." Pace pace pace.
"Robin I'm a little busy right now trying to solve the problem , to come to your lets put our heads together and solve the problem meeting. However one thing I might recommend you do if you're really worried about trying to avoid the next collision, is to tell ISES to fire our maneuvering thrusters for a few seconds. You can either change our trajectory or change our rotation rate. For myself I'm almost interested to see what happens if it kills us all again."
((Won't be posting again in this thread unless you guys decide to hunt her down in the machine shop.))
Robin blinked, snapped his fingers, then turned and strode over to the intercom. "Good idea, Sam! I was just getting there myself... I'll have to calculate how much we need to move to avoid the meteor, and what kind of movement would be the most efficient use of our limited fuel... I'll have to talk to Isis...." Robin shook his head. "...Yeah, I dunno, Sam, that's way too big of a risk to take. People have died and they haven't come back. And I dunno about you, but my death kinda sucked. I'd rather not go through that again, even if we could be sure it wasn't permanent. ......What are you working on?"
Sam walked back over to her laptop to finish coding the targeting algorithms. Hopefully the Master's presence would be helpful and not disruptive. She was still fairly upset, and had been trying to lose herself in her work.

The Master entered the room a few moments later and took a seat across from Sam. He wasted no time in sizing up her mental condition as he set his portable on the table and turned it on. She still seemed rattled. Vulnerable. In nearly any other situation he'd use this to bring her mind under his control, but for the time being he was far more concerned with not dying again this week.
"What do you have so far?" he asked, brining up his own version of a targeting system on his portable for comparison.

"Nearly everything," she said as she typed a few last keystrokes than left the program to compile.
leaning back she let herself relax a little as she said, "It's been mostly a matter of retracing my steps. I had a fully functioning prototype before it was deleted along with everything else except our memories," her tone was mostly one of pride in her work, though there was still a slight undertone of bitterness.
On the adjacent table were the radar dish and weapons mount. They looked complete except for the marked absence of a weapon which still sat in its holster on sam's thigh.
Looking over at Cyril screen she asked, "So what have you got?"

"How long have you been working on this?" he asked, skimming over the program as it compiled. It was a lot of work to have finished in a few days, at least for someone from the early 21st century. Not to be outdone, however, he turned his portable toward her.
"Mine is based on a loose satellite array in orbit around us. It eliminates the problem of radar blind spots," he said, noting the single radar dish.
