You could try filtering a message to them. If the filter breaks, they're not in Luceti anymore.

"Breaks" in what way? It would automatically become public, or it would just come back marked "return to sender" somehow?

Parts of your filter would drop out. So you'd get a few words suddenly becoming public. You'd hear it happening, though, as long as it was a voice message.

If you're worried about that, just send them a really generic "Hi, how are you?" kind of message or something.
