There seems to be a lot of rumors being passed around from unreliable sources, and most of it is re-hashing of information that Alice Jester said a few weeks ago at
http://www.supernatural.tv/ Put behind the cut, cause some of this might be spoilerly for people.
Nothing has been confirmed about Eric stepping down, Warner or the CW won't confirm anything, that's because they are still working out contract negoations. Anyone saying otherwise is spreading false rumors.

Oh, I forgot the reason as to why Kripke might not be on board as showrunner (but I think he'll be there at least as a consultant). Word is Warner Brothers wants him to take over some other projects. He's listed as Executive Producer for the new Ghostfacers Web Spinoff on wbtv.com. Believe it or not, these web series are important to Warner Brothers. If they take off online, their notion is they're ripe to be TV show on The CW or cable. The CW wants him back, but studio demands can be tough on a creator of a show that just celebrated their 100th episode. They like repeated successes.
Besides if it is true he isn't leaving the show all together, he would be working closely with Sera on everything. Sera will now have to deal with the suits, the budget and other things, she will most likely have less creative input. And the writing is a collective thing, no one writer writes all the episode, they put the idea out there and go with it from there.
Oh and about Misha- I was half right, according to Alice Jester (the only person I trust for information anymore) He is signed for a season 6, but it's up to the writers if they use him or not. If Misha himself doesn't know if he will be back it's for a good reason, the Angel story line will be done and over with.. There will be no need for him to return... ;)

They all like to start a fan frenzy, by starting rumors they usually are not true. How many times did E or EW say Anna was gonna return as a love interest, how many places posted Jensen was directing the 100th episode. Neither one of these rumors came to be true.
