Jono's Room, The Apartment Above the Boards, Sunday Morning

Dec 09, 2012 18:27

You know, under most other occasions, Jono would probably count himself thankful that he had only seen one day of weirdness during a week where it had apparently hit the island in fits and starts. One day as opposed to a handful was a definite upside. Far less opportunity for him to make an arse of himself, after all. And once he'd been hit, being ( Read more... )

In general, April tended to wake up fast, then slow: she opened her eyes the instant it occured to her to not be asleep anymore, then took her time moving or doing anything until she absolutely had to.

On this particular morning, the moment her eyes opened, April turned her head to the side where the rest of the bed could be found, not changing her expression much at all. She was more than awake enough for additional movement; she just didn't want to.

Upon seeing... just about what she'd expected to see, she lifted her eyebrows and waited for Jono to talk first. That seemed, well, not fair exactly, but at least justified.

Ah, awkward silence time. That was always... fun? Jono glanced her way, opened his mouth a little, and sort of sat there for a moment, trying to piece together his thoughts.

"Morning, luv." His thoughts didn't seem to be cooperating. Some part of him figured that he needed to be stringing together some sort of long morning-after-weirdness-induced-sex monologue that just wasn't happening. And the rest of him was wondering why in the world that other part of him seemed hell-bent on making it weird.

So he just shrugged his shoulders.

"Hungry?"

She'd spent the night. Now it was morning. Food made sense. Or at least coffee.

It wasn't that she was trying to make the silence awkward, just that... well, she was April. Silence was a thing she did. At least when speech wasn't necessary or helpful.

Meanwhile, food was good. April liked food. "Got bacon?"

"What sort of bachelor would I be if I didn't have bacon?" There had to be bacon somewhere. And eggs. Possibly even bread that hadn't gone green. A day of weirdness wasn't long enough for everything in the kitchen to turn into some sort of mutated nightmare food, after all. "I'll do up a proper breakfast. Bacon, eggs, toast. Coffee."

Coffee was mandatory.

"I might even have jam in th'fridge. For the toast."

You know. In case she'd somehow been unaware of the function of jam.
