That's a stupid question. Why do ya think people have to have a purpose in order to live?

[Okay, trying not to get too pissed by the 'stupid question' part.]

People always have something they're striving for, something they want to do. It's often a thing people dedicate their lives to. Some would consider it a waste of time not to have a goal like that.

I wouldn't say that people who don't have a purpose are wastin' their lives. Some are searchin' fer that purpose, others are just happy the way they are. They don't need ta strive for anythin'.

If you say so.

Though I truly think that if you have no purpose, you are just wasting your time. It goes by too quickly and it isn't something you get back.

Each person has a unique purpose for living. I have many reasons to live, to expand my knowledge, to embrace nature's beauty, and most importantly, to serve the Great Dragon.

The Great Dragon? Would that be your ruler? Though 'to embrace nature's beauty'. I can't say that's one I've heard very often.

The Great Dragon...he is not a ruler, per say. He has saved mankind in the past, so we of Caer Pelyn honor him each day as we live.

Unfortunately, humans have become embroiled in their material pleasures that many have lost sight of nature.

I see. Interesting, I suppose.

Nature often is overlooked greatly, isn't it? [He's one of those humans that's embroiled in their material pleasures. He actually destroys nature. But who has to know?]

... To learn.

To learn what? I think you learn without meaning to.

I don't feel the need to specify.

Very well. I do hope whatever it is you're learning pays off well in the end. It would be a shame if it didn't.

It is no problem at all.

People live because they fear death. The majority have no higher purpose than that.

[Now this is interesting.]

I must say I agree with you and yes, people often never have any higher purpose. It's an irritating little human trait.

It's refreshing to hear somebody say something like this, though.

That's hardly a trait confined just to humans.

[If he shifts just so, Waltz will be able to see his decidedly non-human ears in the image viewer.]

[Oh, he sees. He looks at the ears with interest.]

Oh my, I would guess you know about this well?
